FIRE CREWS WERE CALLED OUT TO NORTH STREET IN CLAREMONT JUST A LITTLE AFTER 8:30. FIRE CREWS WERE ABLE TO KNOCK DOWN THE FLAMES WITHIN 20 MINUTES. NO ONE WAS INSIDE...OR WAS HURT DURING THIS... Police investigating suspicious fire in Sullivan County
Police are investigating a suspicious fire that broke out at an unoccupied home in Claremont, New Hampshire.The Claremont Fire Department said they received a report of a fire at a home on North Street on Sunday night at 8:36 p.m.Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, which investigators said started in the basement of the one-and-a-half-story home.While fire damage was contained to the basement, there was heavy smoke damage throughout the house.Investigators said the cause of the fire is suspicious because the home is unoccupied and there is no power to the structure. It is currently owned by the city.Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Claremont Police Department.
