The Rice Township police department announced they will be hosting a police training event at Rice Elementary school this week from August 15 through August 19 between 7am and 5pm.

The public is advised there may be visible police presence and activity along Church Road and at the school with police from multiple jurisdictions.

Police will be conducting training mostly within the school but there is a chance armed officers may be visible at times on the grounds of the school.

Officials wanted to warn the public, citizens in the area and passing drivers of the training and to remind everyine that the school property is not open to the public and that any attempt to intervene, photograph or observe this training is prohibited.
