Boy, 17, seriously hurt in LI shooting, dropped off at hospital in stolen, bullet-riddled SUV

WYANDANCH, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting on Sunday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

At 2:37 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired on Parkway Boulevard, near Russell Street, in Wyandanch, according to police.

At the scene, officers located shell casings and evidence of a shooting, but there were no victims on scene.

Nearly 20 minutes later, a local hospital reported a teen with a gunshot wound in the emergency room at 2:58 p.m.

The teen was dropped off at the hospital with serious injuries by several men in a 2013 Toyota RAV4, police said.

The SUV, which had previously been reported stolen, was located abandoned and with bullet holes in Bay Shore around 7 p.m.
