Red hot band "Giovannie And The Hired Guns" will be in the area.

There are certain levels of fame. First, it's very hard to get your song on the radio. Then, as you probably notice, a lot of songs come and go quickly, only to be occasionally remembered in the future. Then there are those songs that stick around for a while when they are no longer considered new. Giovannie appears to have one of those career-making hits on his hands.

From the first time I saw the title "Ramon Ayala" come in, I went "what the f@#$? Being from West Texas I know who Ramon Ayala is and I couldn't figure out why there was a rock song with this title. I immediately put the song on and listened to it no less than a dozen times over the next 24 hours (I swear, this is no exaggeration).

Now, remember what I said about a song sticking around for a bit. One of the best things that can happen to a song like this is a slow build up. The VIDEO for "Ramon Ayala" came out 13 months ago. This song is on track to be something on the radio for many years to come.

Still, Giovannie And The Hired Guns are from Stephenville, Texas. They've actually played Lubbock several times but few people knew who they were. Now, somehow the Levelland Cotton & Crude festival scored a visit from the boys on September 17th. What's extra super-duper crazy about this is, that the band's very next gig is the "Louder Than Life Festival in Kentucky, sharing the stage with Slipknot, KISS, Nine Inch Nails, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rob Zombie, and about eighty other bands.

I think this show will be WELL WORTH a trip to Levelland. Here's the event info.
