Kyle Busch became the latest driver to get crashed by Ross Chastain
On Sunday, NASCAR went short track racing. The 0.75-mile of Richmond Raceway hosted the event as the playoffs quickly approach.
Hear from Kyle Busch after the incident with Kyle Busch below.
In recent weeks, Ross Chastain has been building a list of drivers who are frustrated with him. That list has continued to grow after Sunday at Richmond Raceway.
Drivers have started taking notes of Chastain’s reputation. Things boiled to the surface back in June as Chastain crashed Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott in two seperate incidents within a matter of a few laps at WWT Racing.
Chastain then spun Hamlin again at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Just a few weeks ago at Pocono Raceway, Hamlin initiated payback as he battled for the win with Chastain, sending him into the wall as Hamlin grabbed the win.
Last week, Christopher Bell and Chastain tangled. Bell noted that he took note of who he was blocking and the incident might not have happened if it was another driver.
Now, at the start of stage three, Chastain got loose under Kyle Busch. As he chased it up the track, he tagged Busch in the left rear, sending him for a spin. The incident collected Erik Jones and Martin Truex Jr.
After the race, Kyle Busch commented on the incident…
Kyle Busch comments
“We were looking ok and in a good spot, just coming up through there,” Kyle Busch told NBC Sports after the race.
Busch added, “We got Chastained this week. We were his victim this week.”
“That didn’t hurt us too bad. We restarted in a decent spot. Then, the next spin was Christopher [Bell]. That allowed the guys around us to come get tires.”
Busch added, “They had 10 lap fresher tires than us the whole rest of the day. That kinda hurt us. Wrong side of strategy there, at the end.”
Kyle Busch was able to fight back to a top 10 run at Richmond Raceway.
