(Whately, MA) Update – The water pump failure in Whately has been resolved and the Water Department has returned the town to previous water restrictions. Currently, residents are asked to adhere to the Odd/Even Outdoor Watering schedule. Odd number addresses can water lawn on odd numbered days and even number addresses can water on even numbered days. Outdoor watering should take place between 6 and 8 p.m.

The Whately Water Department has issued an emergency total outdoor water ban, effective immediately as of August 14th. The water department also says “inside water usage should be limited as well” after a water pump failure left the town’s water storage tank at critically low levels. The ban will last at least 72 hours or until further notice.

The Whately Water Commissioners can be reached by email at water@whately.org or by phone at 413-665-3080 for any further questions.
