NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy who allegedly fatally shot another boy, also 14, in a Bronx apartment building lobby early Thursday.

The victim, identified as Jacob Borbin, of the Bronx, was shot in the chest in the lobby of 237 E. 194th St. in Fordham Manor.

He was found outside on the street by officers responding to a call just after 1 a.m. amid a report he may have been among a group of kids playing with a gun.

EMS rushed the teen to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Borbin lived in Allerton, about two miles away from the shooting scene.

On Saturday, police arrested a teen in connection to the shooting and charged him with murder, manslaughter and two counts of weapons possession. His identity is being withheld due to his age.

It appears Borbin and other boys may have been passing around a gun when it discharged and struck him in the chest, WABC reported, and his family insisted it was an accident.
