A suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of a young Hueytown man earlier this week.
Patrick Levell Johnson, 26, of Concord, is charged with capital murder and shooting into an occupied residence. The warrant was issued on Sunday and Johnson was booked into the Jefferson County Jail just beofre 3 p.m.
He is charged in the Wednesday-night slaying of 22-year-old Joshua Alexander Adams.
Hueytown police responded at 7:17 p.m. to the 1000 block of 26th Avenue. Police Chief Mike Yarbrough said Adams was inside a residence when he was killed.
Adams was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Yarbrough said investigators are not yet releasing a motive. The chief said more arrests are expected.
Johnson is being held without bond.
