A man and woman died Sunday morning after a crash on OK-9 in Caddo County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Authorities said Benjamin Horse, 45, and Robin Gomez, 38, were declared dead at the scene near County Road 1330 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, by medical examiners.

The OHP says Horse was driving a 2012 Chevy Traverse southbound with Gomez as the passenger.

Then, the car swerved left and hit a guardrail. Authorities say this sent the car airborne from the embankment and into the Washita River, where it landed on its top.

The OHP said Horse was ejected and Gomez was found in the car with her seatbelt buckled.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash and the condition of the driver.
