KENILWORTH, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A teenage girl was seriously injured after she was thrown from a vehicle during a car crash Saturday morning in New Jersey, NJ Advance reported.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on the Garden State Parkway where a 51-year-old woman was driving a minivan in the area of milepost 140.5 in Kenilworth, officials said.
The vehicle struck the right guardrail and the 14-year-old passenger was thrown from the car as a result.
After crashing into the guardrail, the vehicle then hit a concrete overpass support and another guardrail. It then crossed over into the roadway to the left and struck a concrete median barrier.
Authorities did not say where the girl was taken for treatment nor provide any updates on her status. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Police are still investigating the crash.
