Kylian Mbappe and Neymar had to be separated in dressing room argument as 'objects were thrown'

Kylian Mbappe and Neymar reportedly had to be separated by teammates on Saturday night, following PSG's win over Montpellier, as things nearly turned really ugly.

It was a night of mixed fortunes for Paris Saint-Germain and their forwards, as they beat Montpellier 5-2 at the Parc des Princess, in their opening home game of the new season.

Despite the big win, not everything went according to plan, with Mbappe missing a penalty at 0-0 and then appearing to refuse to run when the ball wasn't passed to him.

In the second half the Ligue 1 champions did score a penalty, this time Neymar stepping up to the spot, and his refusal to give the ball to his teammate seemed to have caused an issue.

According to one report, there was an altercation in the PSG changing room after full time, with the two penalty takers nearly coming to blows.

The report claims that the two shouted at each other and then butted heads, before they were split apart by teammates. They shouted some more and objects were even apparently thrown.

Mbappe wasn't happy that the ball was taken off him for the second penalty, despite his teammate doing what he couldn't do in the first half.

But things were also tense at the end of the first half, perhaps due to the French striker taking the penalty and failing to score from it.

Following on from their 'fight' in the dressing room after, things have taken another turn for the worse between the pair on social media.

Neymar has been spotted liking two posts about his teammate taking penalties in future, something confirmed by manager Christophe Galtier after the match.

Mbappe signed a new contract at PSG at the end of last season, when it had previously been expected that he would be moving to Real Madrid.

According to some reports, the deal included a promise to the World Cup winning striker that Neymar would be sold this summer, which obviously hasn't happened.

The 23-year-old is also said to have more power in the club as well, making him the club's marquee player despite the continued presence of Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Fans of the Brazilian think the penalty taking duties going to the former Monaco man is directly linked with his new power.
