Wind Surge comes from behind to win, take series

WICHITA The Wind Surge defeated the Corpus Christi Hooks 7-6 on Saturday night behind twelve hits and four doubles for Wichita’s third straight win to remain in first place. The Surge have won eight of their last nine games.

Anthony Prato hit the game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning that allowed Edouard Julien to score and give the Surge the game deciding 7-6 lead.

The Surge took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning courtesy of a leadoff home run from Julien. Julien finished with four hits in four at bats with four RBIs and a walk in the game.

Quincy Hamilton led the way at the plate for Corpus Christi as he finished one for five with four RBIs including a grand slam in the third inning that gave the Hooks a 4-1 lead.

The Hooks scored two runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead as Ross Adolph singled on a ground ball to left field to score a runner. Adolph scored the following at-bat on an RBI double by Joe Perez.

Alex Isola hit a two-run RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning to shrink the Corpus Christi lead to 6-4. Isola went one for four with two RBIs on the night.

The Surge tied the game in the sixth inning as Julien’s third hit of the night came on a two-out single that scored two runners to even the score 6-6.

Notes: The Surge tallied their 25th come-from-behind win on the year… Tonight’s win marked Wichita’s 11th series victory this season.  Edouard Julien picked up his 24th multi-hit game of the season. 0
