Journalist Shannon Bream took to Twitter to tell the story of how she was fired from her first TV job as she prepares to become Fox News Sunday's permanent anchor.
Bream will begin her full-time hosting of the weekly program on September 11, 2022, becoming the show's first female host, according to a Fox News report. As well as her new role, she will continue to be Fox's chief legal correspondent.
The job has been vacant since late last year after Chris Wallace left for CNN.
On the hire, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said Bream is an "outstanding journalist, reporter and anchor" who has cultivated a "strong and enduring relationship with" Fox's audience.
Despite this endorsement, tweeting on Saturday, Bream highlighted one her first failures in the business.
"Y'all, I got fired from my first TV job, by a man who told me I was the worst person he'd ever seen on TV," she tweeted.

Bream explained in a series of follow-up tweets that she used this experience to improve her abilities for future opportunities.
"I had much to learn, and as I spent months getting anyone to return an email or a call I watched my tapes and got real with myself," she continued.
"There is always room for improvement, and believe me I need it.
"I got a healthy serving of humility and learned that God often allows us to walk through valleys- for our own good.
"That was also true when I spent years in chronic pain and was ultimately diagnosed with a genetic condition that has no cure"
"God walks with us through our deepest sorrows, and celebrates with us on our mountaintops.
"Our circumstances may change, but he never will. I'm feeling especially grateful for that this week, and can't wait to start my new adventure on Fox News Sunday."
Bream proved to be a regular draw for Fox News Sunday fans during her time as a guest host for the show, according to a Fox News report.
She had outdrawn the 2021 average audience of the show by 20 percent and her January appearance in the anchor position was the highest-rated Fox News Sunday episode of 2022.
In June, she also gained 37 percent of viewers in the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults age 25-54.
In addition to her work in journalism, Bream is also a published author, with books focusing on the exploits of women in the bible.
She released "The Women of the Bible Speak" in March 2021 and followed it up with "The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak" a year later.
"When you're putting together a book, no matter how much you want to focus on the content, you do have this wild dream - could this book ever make the New York Times bestseller list?" Bream told Fox News Digital earlier this year.
"And I just don't think that anybody who has helped put together these last two books on the Fox label would have ever imagined that we would have this response that we had from people."
