KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Kids in Kearney had a chance to get up close and personal with vehicles of all sizes and capabilities Saturday morning.

The Kearney Area Children’s Museum held its annual Roadway Heroes event. Kearney police and Volunteer Fire departments brought out their vehicles for kids to tour and learn all about.

There was also an excavator — its tires alone were bigger than most people who attended the event. Jennifer Beck, with the Children’s Museum, said this event represents their mission.

“The Kearney Area Children’s Museum is a non-profit this is one of the many events we hold throughout the year to support the museum, to continue our mission and providing unique experiences for children to be able to learn and grow,” Beck said.

For some, the early morning event called for coffee, which was sold to eventgoers along with ice cream.
