FHP: 45-year-old woman killed, multiple people injured in Osceola County crash
A deadly crash occurred Saturday morning in Osceola County, Florida Highway Patrol says.
Troopers say the crash happened on State Road 60 and Mae Bass Road around 9:21 a.m.
A van was in an eastbound lane on SR-60 and a sedan headed west on that road drifted into the van's lane, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The two vehicles crashed, then upon impact, the sedan struck a wire fence.
Five occupants, four from Oakland Park and one person from Ft. Lauderdale, were in the sedan.
One of the passengers, a 45-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
A 35-year-old passenger in the vehicle suffered critical injuries.
The driver, a 59-year-old man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, troopers say.
Two children, a 6-year-old and a 4-year-old, in the sedan, had minor injuries and were also transported. The 53-year-old driver of the other vehicle involved, a man from Coconut Creek, had minor injuries from the crash.
Troopers say the crash is being investigated.
The name of the 45-year-old woman killed in the crash has not been provided.
