JUST A DAY. WELL, AFTER A TWO YEAR BREAK, DUE TO COVID, SAINT JOE’S PICNIC IS BACK AND IN FULL SWING. ORGANIZER UPS ARE EXPECTING ABOUT 75,000 PEOPLE. THAT’S NEARLY TWICE AS MANY AS ATTENDED BACK IN 2019. THE LAST YEAR, THE PICNIC WAS HELD IN-PERSON. THE TWO DAY PICNIC FEATURES CASINO STYLE GAMES, FOOD DRINKS AND RAFFLES, ALL BENEFITING THE CHILDREN’S HOME. THEY WERE ALL ABUSED AND NEGLECTED. KIDS THAT ARE WARDS OF THE STATE THAT SAINT JOSEPH CHILDREN’S HOME TAKES CARE OF AND GETS THEM TO THE POINT WHERE THEY CAN EITHER RETURN TO THEIR FAMILIES OR BECOME A FOSTER OR CHILD AND OR ADOPTION. AND SO THE KIDS HERE GET A LOT OF GOOD LOVE AND TREATMENT AND THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT SO THAT THEY CAN GET BACK TO OUR FOREVER FAMILY. THE FUNDRAISING GOAL THIS Y

After a two-year break due to COVID-19, St. Joe's picnic is back.Organizers are expecting about 75,000 people. That's nearly twice as many as attended back in 2019, the last year the picnic was held in person.The two-day picnic features casino-style games, food, drinks, and raffles — all benefiting the children's home."They're all abused and neglected kids that are wards of the state that St Joseph's Children's Home takes care of and gets them to the point they can either return to their families or become a foster child and or adopted. The kids here get a lot of love and treatment, therapeutic treatment so they can get back to their forever family," said Dennis Withey, board of trustees, St Joseph's Children's HomeThe fundraising goal this year is $1,000,000.
