HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Lots of clouds with some areas of fog and drizzle around this morning in the wake of a cold front that brought showers and thunderstorms through the region overnight. Cloudy skies will be the case for most of the region with gradual clearing to the northeast and northwest as an area of low pressure continues to sink south over Kansas. Temperatures will be significantly cool under cloudy skies in central spots with some places seeing highs this afternoon only in the 60s. There is a chance we could see some record low max temperatures broken in Hastings and Grand Island having records set back in 2013 of 71 degrees and 70 degrees respectively. Areas to the northeast and northwest will see more sun this afternoon which will allow for temperatures to reach the mid to upper 70s.

Clouds will stick around overnight for south central and southwestern areas with clearing for areas east and north. Could see some areas of fog again tomorrow morning as air remains rather saturated especially south central spots. Lows for Wednesday morning will be rather cool for summer standards ranging from the mid to upper 50s. The clouds will clear out as we head through the day Wednesday. With more sunshine Wednesday, highs will range from the low 80s to mid 80s.

Mostly clear skies expected for Wednesday night with lows again falling into the mid to upper 50s for most with a few spots north starting off in the low 60s. Thursday will feature sunny skies and a return flow from the south which will warm things up ahead of our next cold front. Highs on Thursday will range from the mid 80s east to low 90s west. With the passage of a cold front late Thursday, highs for Friday will be a few degrees cooler in the low 80s. Mostly sunny skies as we head into the weekend with day time temperatures in low to mid 80s both Saturday and Sunday.
