Boswell Borough held its 2nd annual block party and community days parade on Saturday.
The event featured several different vendors, live performances and food stands but also the Boswell Borough Fire Department and the Somerset Area Ambulance association.
This comes after earlier this week the Boswell council voted on Somerset Area Ambulance association being their new emergency services provider following issues with funding.
The community's response has been mixed but councilmembers as well as members of the fire department wanted to remind people at the block party that they are still here.
“The fire department has been really focused on working with the borough to make this as big of an event as possible," said Jonathan Adams, public information officer Boswell Fire Department. "We did a lot with the parade. We’re tying to have a big showing here with different fundraising things and with the after party tonight. Lots of folks walking around with fire department t-shirts to remind folks that the fire department is still here, we will be here , and we’re ready to serve and answer the call when we’re needed.”
Boswell Borough hopes to make this day into an annual event.
