WE'RE FOLLOWING BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING... A GUNFIRE INCIDENT IN BURLINGTON EARLY THIS MORNING-- LANDING TWO MEN IN THE HOSPITAL. POLICE RESPONDING TO CALLS ABOUT A SHOOTING ON MAIN STREET... IN BETWEEN CHURCH AND SAINT PAUL STREET. OFFICERS-- DISCOVERING TWO MEN WHO HAD BEEN SHOT. THEY WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE U-V-M MEDICAL CENTER... AND WERE TREATED FOR NON-LIFE- THREATENING INJURIES. A gunfire incident in Burlington early Saturday morning landed two men in the hospital.Police responded to calls about a shooting on Main Street just before 1:28 a.m. in between Church Street and Saint Paul Street.Officers discovered two men who had been shot. They were transported to the UVM Medical Center and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.Witnesses informed officers on which direction the suspect went. Police swept the location, but no one was found. This marks Burlington’s 20th gunfire incident this year.The investigation is in its early stages.
