Humidity stays at bay this weekend (8/12/22)

As the week draws to a close, so will the some of the warmer temperatures. Humidity will not be unbearable this weekend, as dew points are trending to stay in the “muggy” category in the low to mid 60s. Temperatures will feel closer to the actual recorded temperatures for the next couple of days before some humid conditions return with the chance for rain by the beginning of next week.

As for high temperatures tomorrow, we will get right back to the middle 80s. Again, without the humidity tomorrow, conditions are looking good if your plans include the Sikeston Rodeo Saturday evening. Winds will shift from the northeast to the southeast tomorrow but remain light throughout the afternoon. Much of the viewing area will stay within the mid to upper 80s, but a few areas off to the west will see temperatures closer to the 90s.

As for the Skeeter Meter, another day in the “medium” category tomorrow without the ingredients for standing water or humidity. Come Sunday, temperatures are expected to bump into the lower 90s so the “high” category is called for. Chances for rain on Monday will keep the Skeeter Meter in the “high” category with humidity and moisture transported back into the air impacting us.

After the dry weekend, chances for some rainfall return to the forecast once more for the first three days of the work week. With that, high temperatures will stay around or below normal for this time of year. Overnight lows for the week also will stay on the cooler side of average, for the normal for low temperatures is usually about 67° during this period of the month.
