Sweet Home police logs Aug. 1-7, 2022

August 1

6:37 a.m. – Brooke Lynn Paige Brown, 48, was cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass and harassment, 1100 block of Tamarack St.

8:39 a.m. – Caller reported someone scraped the side of his vehicle while it was parked in 1300 block of Long St. previous night. Report taken.

10:30 a.m. – Caller reported RVs blocking traffic in area of 47th and Main. Officer responded, contacted driver and told them they could not stop on highway. They moved along.

3:39 p.m. – Melissa Ann Dewar, 49, turned herself in at Albany Police Department on Sweet Home warrant.

7:00 p.m. – Caller reported that sometime during previous 24 hours his wallet was stolen from his vehicle, 1200 block 40th Ave. Report taken.

7:31 p.m. – Caller reported that two motorcycles had collided at corner of Long and 38th. Both operators left scene, but Luke Kenneth Buehner, 38, returned to the scene and was cited for driving while suspended. The other motorcycle was listed as stolen and released to owner. Investigation pending. Report taken.

7:35 p.m. – Breanna Marie Mansell, 28, taken into custody on Lincoln County warrant, lodged in Linn County Jail. 1200 block 44th Ave.

August 2

12:27 a.m. – Joshua Martin Hughes, 20, arrested on Lebanon and Albany warrants. Cited and released.

12:27 a.m. – Caller reported theft of $200 from Mr. Lucky’s Deli, 1200 block Long St. Report taken.

9:22 a.m. – Shannon Richards was cited for driving with a suspended license and driving uninsured, 4400 block of Main St.

10:19 a.m. – Deputy responded to Riverbend Campground, 45900 block Hwy. 20, to check on the welfare of an elderly female. According to Sheriff’s Office, family was camping at Riverbend and caller was concerned for the elderly female because she was slumped over in a wheelchair. Park Rangers had checked on the camp multiple times and determined everything was good. She was being cared for by family members.

2:45 p.m. – Robert Dwayne Pollock, 48, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of harassment, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

7:43 p.m. – Caller reports a syringe on the ground in the area of 15th Ave./Main St. An officer responded and disposed of the syringe.

11:14 p.m. – Gilbert Alonzo Martinez, 46, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 1200 block of Long St.

August 3

12:07 a.m. – Tye Daniel King, 40, was arrested on Oregon State Parole Board warrant for parole violation, Highway 20 Church of Christ, 3025 Main St.

10:42 a.m. – Caller reported boat burglary at Edgewater Marina, 1400 block of 60th Ave. According to Sheriff’s Office, stereo speaker was taken off of the 2007 Tige’ boat. It appears this and other recent boat burglaries in the area occurred at the same time. Investigation continuning. Report taken.

11:41 a.m. – Deputy responded to a bull loose along Hwy. 20, near Santiam Terrace Road. The animal was contained and its owner arrived. Warned for livestock at large.

11:47 a.m. – Caller reported a house and shed break-in at a residence he was watching for a friend, 1100 block of 38th Ave. Report taken.

12:22 p.m. – Joshua Scott Dawson, 43, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fourth-degree assault, 700 block of Mountain View Road.

5:06 p.m. – Marick Allen Tyree Best, 21, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of harassment, Lebanon Police Department.

5:55 p.m. – Multiple callers reported a motor-vehicle collision, 1400 block of Main St. No injuries; damage over $2,500. Both drivers exchanged information. A Dodge pickup was towed to its owner’s residence.

August 4

5:57 a.m. – Marcus Anthony Cuellar, 33, was taken into custody for second-degree criminal trespass and on a state parole board warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Sweet Home High School, 1641 Long St.

6:21 a.m. – Caller reported a subject inside a residence, 1100 block of 18th Ave. David Lee Oviatt, 42, is in custody for first-degree criminal trespass.

7:49 a.m. – Cody Isaiah Milligan, 25, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of harassment, Oregon State Police.

9:16 a.m. – Caller reported a needle in a driveway, 1500 block of Tamarack St. Item seized and disposed of.

10:29 a.m. – Rhonda Rae Sparks, 36, was cited and released for second-degree attempted burglary, 2600 block of Kalmia St.

1:34 p.m. – Sheriff’s Office responded to disturbance at Lewis Creek Park, 44450 North River Dr. According to LCSO, there was an argument about dogs getting loose and fighting with each other in the park. The owners were yelling and pushing each other after rude words were exchanged. Ultimately, both sides recognized they had made poor choices and were warned for the conduct. But while in the park, deputies were alerted to an 8-year-old male who had fallen andl and had a “huge gash out of his leg,”

exposing the kneecap. Deputies applied medical supplies and controlled the bleeding while calling for an ambulance. The boy was transported to the hospital, where he received some stiches.

1:55 p.m. – Jacob Jones, 30, was arrested on a Linn County Circuit Court felony warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of first-degree aggravated theft, as well as fraudulent use of a credit card and first degree criminal mistreatment, 870 block of 14th Ave. Also charged with third-degree theft.

3:43 p.m. – Joshua Scott Dawson, 43, was cited for driving with a suspended license, 1900 block of Tamarack St.

7:03 p.m. – Caller reported seeing people taking things from a house posted for eviction, 4800 block of Main St. Report taken for second-degree criminal trespass.

August 6

8:49 a.m. – Shauna Ray Harden, 28, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer and a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of third-degree theft, a criminal citation X3, and providing false information to a police officer, as well as possession of meth X2, parking lot, McDonald’s, 2000 Main St.

1:41 p.m. – Caller reported theft of property from boat moored at Edgewater Marina, 1400 block 60th Ave. Tube, kneeboard, miscellaneous small tools, towing flag, wakeboard, three PFDs and two paddles reported missing. This brings total losses from boats at marina over past week to some $3,000, according to Sheriff’s Office. Report taken.

5:28 p.m. – Deputy patrolling Quartzville Road up to Milepost 27 found multiple illegal camps on Army Corps of Engineers, BLM and Campbell Global land, and seven illegal campfires on U.S. Forest Service land.

5:34 p.m. – Eric Jerome Taylor was arrested for domestic violence fourth-degree assault, 1000 block of 23rd Ave.

7:44 p.m. – Dog bite reported in the 38400 block of Wall St. Report taken.

9:14 p.m. – Burglary reported in 40800 block McDowell Creek Rd. Someone broke into a vacant house and stole Milwaukee cordless tools and two freezers. Total value $1,000. Report taken. 11:15 p.m. – A single-vehicle crash was reported in the 43000 block of Marks Ridge Drive. No injuries reported. Report taken.

11:15 p.m. – Single-vehicle crash reported in 43000 block Marks Ridge Dr. According to Sheriff’s Office, two juvenile females, 17 and 16, were in a 2002 Ford F250 on the gravel portion of the roadway going around a corner. The truck slid off the road in the gravel and rolled down the shoulder onto its top. Family arrived and rolled the truck back onto its wheels. No impairment was observed. No injuries reported. August 7

3:01 a.m. – Thomas Allen Tackett, 66, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, Eugene Police Department.

3:20 a.m. – Kelly Duane Kearns, 50, was cited and released on Lincoln County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of meth possession X2 and a criminal citation, 2600 block of Main St.

8:51 a.m. – Michael James Mansell, 24, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, 12th Ave./Main St.

1:32 p.m. – Deputy patrolling Weyerhaeuser property along Upper Calapooia Drive located numerous vehicles parked in a “no parking” zone between mileposts 8.5 and 25. Subjects were warned and left the area.

3:41 p.m. – Deputy patrolling Canyon Creek Road located a couple who had set up camp on Cascade Timber Consulting property at milepost 8. They were told to move to U.S. Forest Service land.

7:21 p.m. – Jennie Lee Lynn Jorgens, 37, was cited for driving uninsured, 4200 block of Main St.

7:43 p.m. – Dustin Kyle Westling, 35, was cited and released for driving with a revoked license, 4500 block of Main St. Cited for driving uninsured and failure to register vehicle.

7:52 p.m. – Joshua Welch, 33, of Lebanon, and Kayla Gambill, 37, of Lebanon, were both cited on warrants, 40700 block of Hwy. 228/Rowell Hill Road. Report taken.

8:00 p.m. – Jessica Ann Hallock, 41, was cited for driving uninsured, 4800 block of Main St.

9:43 p.m. – Joshua Wayne Welch was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of giving false information to a police officer, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
