EMMET COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- An Emmet County woman has been arraigned for allegedly shooting and killing her boyfriend on Wednesday, according to the Emmet County Sheriff's Office.
Heather Mogg, 48, has been charged with one count of second-degree homicide, one charge of felony firearm and one count of possessing a firearm while under the influence.
Mogg allegedly caused the death of Jonathon Tippett, 50, of Harbor Springs, the sheriff's office said.
Mogg was arraigned on Friday in the 90th District Court and her bond was set at $250,000 cash surety.
A probable cause conference is scheduled for September 14 at 11:00 a.m. and a preliminary examination is scheduled for September 21 at 2:00 p.m.
At 8:58 p.m. on Wednesday, dispatch received a call from a woman who stated that she just shot her boyfriend, Sheriff Pete Wallin said.
The sheriff's office arrived at a home on State Road near Middle Village Road in Friendship Township, where they confronted Mogg who was holding a firearm, Sheriff Wallin said.
Deputies located a deceased 50-year-old man with bullet wounds inside the home, Sheriff Wallin said.
