No need to travel far and wide to experience summer fun!
We’re taking a tour of Hopkins County (and neighboring areas), and have put together a list of our favorite attractions and experiences.

Follow along as we 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥!

As summer ends and the school year starts back, we want to feature one last experience on our Discover Local tour – VR Social SS!

VR Social is a collaborative space for “nerds”, artists, geeks, and gamers located at 317 Spring Street in Sulphur Springs.
Scott, the owner of VR Social, has been in the computer and gaming scene since his parents bought him an Atari 2600 for Christmas.

From there it was the gift of an Atari 800XL with a modem that brought him into the world of hacking and BBSes. Scott always loves to discuss the latest in technology trends, so never hesitate to stop in and say hello.

In their space, you can explore the world, travel to the top of the Eiffel tower, dive deep down into the sea, create a cosmos experience with star particles, sculpt and walk through your sculptures, and so much more… all through the world of virtual reality.

Their facility offers a cozy space to hang out (peep the picture of Amanda), multiple VR stations, a free roam space for group play, as well as a green room for online streaming. They can even accommodate private parties and birthdays.

VR Social is also very active in the community and hosts numerous free events throughout the year, including Telescope Moon Viewings, Glow Rides (August 18), Pollinator Garden, and Earth Day events, as well as Halloween Scream Fest (COMING SOON!) the week leading up to Halloween (benefiting Let Love Live Animal Rescue).

Drop in during the final day of their Summer Hours, and receive 50% of their rates on Tuesday – Thursday (August 18)

A special thank you to this community and our local chamber members for making our summer so fabulous! Stay tuned for more Discover Local features this Fall!
