Heating up Saturday in central Iowa
FOR THE WEEKEND. I THINK WE GOT A LOT OF THE HOT WEATHER THIS SUMMER OVER WITH A LIVE LOOK AT THE FAIRGROUNDS. WE TAKE ANOTHER VANTAGE POINT. IF YOU’RE IN THE AUDIENCE, MAYBE IF YOU WAVE, YOU CAN SEE YOURSELVES FROM THAT STANDPOINT. I DON’T KNOW IF YOU CAN. IT’S A LITTLE BIT YOU CAN SEE THE CARS THERE, 88 DEGREES SOUTH WITH 16. IT FEELS LIKE 90 AND STILL MUGGY TEMPERATURES INTO THE SEVENTIES, EVEN SIXTIES WHERE THERE ARE MORE CLOUDS. THE CORE IN DUBUQUE, AS WE LOOK TO THE SOUTH AND WEST, TEMPS ARE APPROACHING 90 DEGREES OUT TOWARDS COUNCIL BLUFFS TONIGHT. TEMPERATURES BACK DOWN TO THE MID SEVENTIES SOUTH. WINDS AT FIVE, TEN MILES PER HOUR STAYS WARM. A LITTLE BREAK FROM THE HUMIDITY. AND THEN AT THE FAIRGROUNDS WE GO INTO TOMORROW MORNING, WE’RE BACK TO 75 DEGREES. THE SOUTHWEST WINDS AT NINE MILES PER HOUR THERE. SATELLITE AND RADAR. THAT IS WHY IT IS SO MUCH COOLER OUT ACROSS EASTERN IOWA WHERE THERE ARE SOME RAIN SHOWERS. THANKFULLY, THE FIELD OF DREAMS GAME WASN’T BEING PLAYED TONIGHT. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH DIFFERENT STORY. WE’RE LEFT WITH SUNSHINE AS WE GO TOWN TO TOWN FOR TOMORROW. UP TO 94 DEGREES. THIS IS THE DENT FOR BEING THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE ENTIRE STATE. FAIR STRETCH AS WE GO INTO THE AREAS TO THE SOUTH AND WEST, APPROACHING 95 TO 100 DEGREES OUT TOWARDS CORNING AND INTO ATLANTIC AND AUBURN AND THEN TO THE NORTH ANOTHER DAY, WE’RE A LITTLE COOLER, NOT AS COOL AS TODAY. YOU CAN SEE UP TOWARDS ALGONA 81 DEGREES, HAMPTON OUT OF THE 70 BACK INTO THE EIGHTIES TOMORROW AND THEN MARSHALLTOWN, 87 DEGREES AND THEN 90 TO GO FROM KNOXVILLE FARTHER SOUTH DOWN TOWARDS THE MISSOURI STATE LINE. WE’LL WRAP THINGS UP WITH THE 8 DAY FORECAST AND I’LL HEAD BACK OVER THE AUDIENCE. YOU’LL SEE TEMPERATURES LARGELY IN TO THE EIGHTIES NEXT WEEK. WE’LL SEE SOME SHOWERS AROUND MONDAY AND TUESDAY. AND THEN WE’RE BACK TO THINKING THUNDERSTORMS TO WRAP UP THE WEEK. WHO’S ENJOYING THE COOLER AIR. WHO’S EXCITED? THAT WINTER IS ABOUT 60 DAYS AWAY? OH, YOU DIDN’T THRO
