Student driver in Roseland grazed in the head by bullet during Driver's ED class

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Chicago high school student is recovering after being shot in the head Thursday during a Driver’s Ed course.

It happened about noon at 113th and Normal in Roseland. It was the last day of Driver’s Ed. There were two students in the car with an instructor from Fenger Academy. A 17-year-old girl was driving, reportedly trying a three-point turn when there was gunfire. A bullet grazed the girl’s head. She was taken to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, where she was treated and released. Nobody else was hurt.

Police said the shooting was under investigation and nobody is in custody.
