Lake County Sheriff’s Office responds to two-vehicle crash

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon east of Madison.  The crash took place at the intersection of Highway 34 and Highway 19 just before 5:00 Tuesday afternoon.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that 68-year-old LeRoy Struck of Tea was driving north on Highway 19, making a left turn onto Highway 34.  That’s when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Kianna Dowdell of Sioux Falls, who was driving east on Highway 34.  Struck failed to yield to Dowdell after stopping, causing the crash.  He was cited for Failing to Stop.

Struck’s vehicle was a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup, which was pulling a boat.  Damage to both was estimated at 30-thousand dollars.  Dowdell’s vehicle was a 2020 Nissan Rogue, with damage estimated at ten-thousand dollars and had to be towed away from the scene.
