It's the fourth year that BECU has worked with legendary crop artist Stan Herd to create a massive mural with Washington State University (WSU).

BECU's partnership with WSU also includes supporting the financial well-being of students through scholarships and financial programs, and they are proud sponsors of WSU Athletics and the WSU Alumni Association.

Located at the intersection of I-270 and I-195, the mural covers 1.5 acres, measures at 360-feet tall by 180 feet wide, and was produced by up to six crewmembers over the course of six days by carving out wheat stubble and adding garbanzos, composted soil, red mulch and sand to showcase a variety of colors to represent Cougar pride.

The mural is featured on a sloped hill in the wheat fields of the Fulfs’ Family Farm; Jack Fulfs is a third-generation Pullman landowner and WSU alumnus.

This year, in addition to the mural, they will also have a physical flag in the installation, which measures at 85-feet tall by 70 feet wide, one of the largest WSU flags ever created!

Pearson Farm & Fence from Colfax, WA provided both the materials and labor for the flag support structure and final installation.

It's an incredible work of art and I'm sure the residents of the International Space Station are enjoying the Cougar pride.

Local Roadside Produce is the BEST

Talk about buying local. How much more local can you get than the produce stand on your town's Main street? Maybe you stop on the highway leading into the next town over. There's nothing better than a fresh cantaloupe! So juicy!
