Two men charged in Greene County murder

On Wednesday 8/10/2022 the Greene County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the Ruckersville area reporting a shooting incident. Upon deputies’ arrival it was determined that Dwight W. Roach age 54 of Ruckersville died from a single gunshot wound.  Greene County Investigations Unit arrived and determined that Mr. Roach was a victim of homicide. As the investigation unfolded two individuals were arrested.

Daniel Emmett Roberts, age 32 of Orange County was charged with the following felony offenses:

18.2-32 Murder in the second degree

18.2-53.1 Use of a firearm in commission of a Felony

18.2-308.2 Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Allen Michael Shifflett, age 28 of Charlottesville was charged with the following felony offenses:

18.2-32 Murder in the second degree

18.2-53.1 Use of a firearm in commission of a Felony

18.2-308.2 Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Both individuals are currently being held at Central Virginia Regional Jail without bond.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the assistance from the following Agencies in investigating and apprehending these individuals.

*Sheriff Amos and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office
