A settlement has been reached in the civil lawsuit filed against former Blair County District Attorney Richard Consiglio on behalf of a State College man who was falsely accused of threatening the Hollidaysburg Area School District.
According to a recent court order, published on Aug. 9, the lawsuit filed on behalf of Scott Vinosky has been dismissed after a settlement was reached.
Vinosky, who was a former intern at the school district, was falsely accused of leaving threatening phone messages to the school in 2019.
Authorities later arrested and charged Javier Cantos Jr. for making the threats.
In July of 2020, Vinosky filed a lawsuit against the police, school officials and the former Blair County DA.
The lawsuit alleged that Vinosky was charged, based upon statements made by school officials, despite the fact that police had already arrested Cantos.
In November of last year, a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit against police, school officials and Consiglio.
However, records show that Vinosky continued to pursue a civil lawsuit against the former Blair County prosecutor.
Details regarding the settlement were not made known.
When asked for comment, the current Blair County District Attorney stated that he was unaware of a settlement being made.
6 News also reached out to the Hollidaysburg School District and Vinosky's attorney for comment, but have not yet heard back.
