Iowa State Fair Archives: Sculptor crafts Elvis, cow out of butter
Mhm totally. This ain't Elvis. The pelvis in Olio. It's the king captured in real dairy butters. I think I'm gonna let you smooth out the space. And its creator is the grand duchess of the 68 year old norma Duffy Lyon of Toledo. Have to do *** little more here to his nose. Have been carving *** world famous Iowa State Fair butter cow for 38 years now. Second sculpture for about 15. I think he's got more detail than some of the things. We've done *** stroke on May 18th. Had some people wondering if she would be sweating the details of her dairy art at all this year. Did you need some extra help this year? Oh yes, definitely. I'm *** good day behind what I used to be. Maybe *** little behind but Duffy is back and 20 year old sarah Doyle are both doing their best to bring *** bovine and *** boy from Memphis out of *** big old ball of butter. Tiny little piece off and I shouldn't have said sculpting stuff out of butter. Like Elvis here is good therapy and by the way, this looks like it's the older Vegas Elvis, he weighs £350. Mhm. It keeps me moving though. It's *** tradition at the Iowa state Fair. *** tradition. Duffy is not ready to let go of Duffy or yeah
