The sale was announced Monday.

American Road Group is buying the Ohio Motorcycle Group and its four dealerships from Mike and Franscene Davis, who are retiring from business. The four dealerships are Mad River Harley-Davidson in Sandusky, Rubber City Harley-Davidson in Cuyahoga Falls, Rock-n-Roll City Harley-Davidson in Cleveland and Adventure Harley-Davidson, located at 1465 State Route 39 NW, Dover.

"As of today, these dealerships are now a part of the American Road Group family," the company said in a statement on Facebook. "The addition of OMG’s locations brings the American Road Group collection of Harley-Davidson dealerships and merchandise stores to 13 locations along the East Coast from Florida to New England. ARG ranks among the nation’s largest Harley-Davidson dealership groups."

It added, "These dealerships are the perfect addition to our ARG family and a natural cultural fit with the customer-first mentality and family-friendly atmosphere. You will still see the same familiar faces in all departments you have grown to know and trust, and we will continue to hire additional staff to support our growing business."

American Road Group, established in 2000, is owned by Steve and Anne Deli. It owns dealerships in Orlando, Meredith, N.H., London, Ky., and Tannersville, Pa., as well as several retail merchandise stores, including Disney Springs at Walt Disney World and Key West, Fla.

Mike and Franscene Davis have been in business in the Dover area for nearly 20 years.

In 2003, they purchased the former H&M Cycle at 401 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, and opened their new location on state Route 39 in 2005. The 38,000-square-foot facility specializes in new and used Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Harley-Davidson parts and accessories, as well as Harley-Davidson motor clothes and riding gear.

The Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce offered its congratulations to the couple on their retirement.

"We wish them both the best as they begin a new chapter," the chamber said on its Facebook page. "Your visionary community leadership, commitment to economic development and your philanthropic spirit have set a path for others to follow. The chamber would also like to welcome the American Road Group to Tuscarawas County."
