CHARLEVOIX COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The Charlevoix bascule bridge was reopened at 4:50 p.m. after several agencies made a sweep of the bridge and surrounding area.
Central Dispatch received a call around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The caller said there was a bomb on the bridge and a sniper in the area, according to police.
Police said they believe the person involved in calling in the threat could be the same person who called in a bomb threat in Harbor Springs January, 2021.
Police also said a second call came into Central Dispatch stating the threat was a hoax.
No device was found at the bridge.
During the investigation, police shut down all of the tower cams in the area.
