ST. LOUIS – Miles McVay, a senior offensive tackle for East St. Louis High School, made his college commitment public Thursday.

He ultimately chose Alabama out of his shortlist which also included Missouri, Alabama, Jackson State, Michigan State, Oregon, and Texas A&M.

“I would like to THANK All the Universities and coaches that recruited me. It was a tough decision, because I became so close with some Great Great coaches,” Mcvay said in a tweet.

His commitment announcement affair was at 6 p.m. at the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club located at 2901 North Grand. McVay chose to partner with the community by making his announcement a back-to-school drive.

“You should never forget where you come from,” McVay said.
