Perry County flooding victims identified

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Perry County Deputy Coroner Jeff Combs confirmed the identity of all seven victims in the recent Eastern Kentucky flash flooding.

The Coroner’s Office Facebook page shared the identities on Thursday.

  • On July 28th, the coroner’s office responded to the Coneva Community of Perry County. 82 year old Nelly Howard was recovered near her home.
  • On July 29th, the coroner’s office was called to respond to the Rowdy Community of Perry County. Mr. David Campbell, age 78 was recovered from his home.
  • On July 29th, the coroner’s office responded to the Dwarf Community of Perry County. James Miller, age 73 of Knott County was recovered.
  • On July 31st, the coroner’s office was called to the Ary Community. Carol Miller, the wife of James Miller was recovered.
  • On July 31st, the coroner’s office was called to the Ary Community, where Betty Beaver was recovered.
  • On July 31st, the coroner’s office was called to the Willard Community of Perry County where Gabriel Hensley, age 30 was recovered.
  • On July 31st, the coroner’s office responded to the Rowdy Community of Perry County, where 71 year old Dennis Stacy was recovered.

Arrangements are not yet known for all victims.
