Investigators searching for missing Augusta man possibly suffering mental crisis

Update | August 12, 2022 – New details in the search for Keith Styuburski.

Though this all happened in Richmond County, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office shared this information with WJBF.

On July 26th, Keith Styuburki was reported missing, last seen by his family.

On July 27th, Keith drives his truck down the train tracks along HWY 56 and it gets stuck. He gets out of his truck and the truck gets hit by a train. The train conductor stops and gets out, Keith tells him he hit his truck. Conductor says “I’ll call police and we can get this sorted out.”

The BCSO gets involved when they find out that Keith was spotted running down Watkins Pond Road towards Old Waynesboro Road shortly after his truck was hit by a train.


AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) — Investigators are searching for a 37-year-old Augusta man who they say may be suffering from a mental health crisis.

According to Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Keith Styburski was last seen on Tuesday, July 26 on the 2300 block of Mims Road. He could possibly be in the area of Highway 56 and Watkins Pond Road on foot.
