Mother convinces judge to let man accused of killing brother in Shively be incarcerated at home

Mother convinces judge to let man accused of killing brother in Shively be incarcerated at home
AFTER HIS FAMILY SHOWS UP TO COURT. GOOD EVENING TO YOU. I’M JENNIFER BAILEYS AND I’M STEPHON DINGLE. THAT JUDGE GRANTED HOME INCARCERATION FOR LEE TWAN PREWETT AFTER INITIALLY SETTING HIS BOND AT $100,000. WITT IS CHARGED WITH KILLING HIS BROTHER AT THEIR HOME IN SHIVELY WEDNESDAY MORNING, BUT HE AND HIS FAMILY SAY IT WAS SELF-DEFENSE. WLKY HAS BEEN ASKING WHY, EXPLAINS WHY THE JUDGE CHANGED HER MIND. MITT HEARING EVERYBODY SUPPORTS HIM. EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY BELIEVES THAT THIS WAS IN SELF DEFENSE. IS THAT WHAT YOU’RE SAYING? OKAY. ALL RIGHT. THE FAMILY OF 31 YEAR OLD, THE TWAN PREWETT, WENT BEFORE A JUDGE THURSDAY, PLEADING WITH HER TO ALLOW PREWITT OUT OF JAIL AND ON HOME INCARCERATION. HE’S FACING A MURDER CHARGE FOR KILLING HIS BROTHER, DEANDRE JONES, AT THEIR HOME IN SHIVELY WEDNESDAY MORNING. BUT FAMILIES SAY PRUITT WAS BEING ATTACKED AND FIRED IN SELF-DEFENSE. THE FAMILY IS BELIEVES THAT THE DEFENDANT, UNFORTUNATELY, HAD HAD NO CHOICE TO DO WHAT HE DID. THEY’RE TOTALLY SUPPORTIVE OF HIM. ATTORNEY ROB EGGERT ARGUED PRUITT HAS NO CRIMINAL HISTORY AND HAS FAMILY SUPPORT. HE CALLED THE SHOOTING A TRAGEDY, NOT A CRIME. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DRUGS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT OR GUNS OR ANYTHING. AND IT’S A TRAGEDY. BUT AS I SAID, I’VE SAID THAT AND FULLY SUPPORTS THIS. AND AFTER HEARING FROM EGGERT AND PRUITT’S MOTHER, THE JUDGE AGREED. I DID INCREASE THE BOND TO $100,000. HOWEVER, AFTER HEARING FROM YOU AND MR. EGGERT TODAY, I WILL CHANGE THE BOND TO HOME AND CURSE ERATION IN LIEU OF THAT $100,000. THURSDAY’S RULING MEANS PRUITT IS NOW ON HOUSE ARREST, BUT HE CAN’T GO HOME WITH HIS MOTHER BECAUSE THAT’S WHERE THE SHOOTING HAPPENED. THE JUDGE SAYS HE’LL HAVE TO STAY WITH ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER. STILL, HIS FAMILY SAY. IT BEATS HAVING TO SPEND ANOTHER
