The Springfield Police Department is investigating a Wednesday night shooting.
It happened after 8 p.m. in the 2200 block of East Cedar Street.
Springfield Police received two ShotSpotter notifications at 8:23 p.m. for that area.
While officers were arriving on the scene they were informed that a man with a gunshot wound to his lower torso had arrived at HSHS St. John's Hospital.
Police say his injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
A short while later police were told a second victim was dropped off, but this time at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
The 16-year-old victim was shot in the head and did not survive.
The Springfield Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is investigating and will provide more information as it becomes available.
