FHP: 24-year-old Orlando man arrested for DUI after striking trooper's patrol car
Florida Highway Patrol responded to an Orange County crash late Wednesday involving one of their vehicles.
The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday night at mile marker 17 and State Road 408, troopers say.
A Nissan was headed west on SR-408 near mile marker 17 and west of SR-417.
Due to a lane closure on SR-408 near the mile marker, an FHP-marked patrol vehicle was parked with emergency lights on.
According to troopers, the Nissan driver, a 24-year-old man from Orlando, did not see the parked vehicle and struck the rear left side of it.
The FHP driver had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
Rodrigo Perez, the driver of the Nissan, did not have any injuries.
Perez was arrested for a DUI and not having a driver's license.
Troopers say his breath sample was 0.221 and over the 0.08 legal Florida limit.
Perez was taken into custody at the Orange County Jail.
The crash is being investigated.
