Austin sees at least four separate shootings overnight, one fatal

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Police are investigating at least four overnight shootings across the city, at least one of which turned fatal.

The first shooting happened Wednesday night in the 2100 block of East Oltorf. Police say they found an adult victim with critical, life-threatening injuries; that individual was transported to a nearby hospital where they later died.

Police are also investigating at least three shootings that happened overnight. The first was reported near Neches and East 7th Street around 3 a.m.; according to police, a woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

A second overnight shooting was reported near Interstate 35 and 38 1/2 Street around 4:30 a.m. Austin Police tell us a man was transported to the hospital; there was no immediate word on his condition.

Finally, police reported a third shooting in the 100 block of Powell Lane, between North Lamar and Georgian Drive on the city's north side around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
