The Yakima Police Department responded to multiple calls of a car travelling at high speeds at around 10 pm.
According to the police, the driver was travelling eastbound on Englewood Avenue when he lost control and collided with a power pole south of the roadway.
The police stated that the driver was found unconscious at the scene. The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver was shifted to Harborview hospital in Seattle for a higher level of medical aid.
According to the police, the driver was travelling under some form of intoxicant during the crash.
The motor vehicle collision is being inspected by the Yakima Police Department.
