'American Horror Stories' Fans Rage as Season 2 Episode 4 Is Not Released on Hulu

American Horror Stories' fourth episode was set to be released at 12 a.m. PT, 3 a.m. ET, on Hulu on Thursday, but to fans' shock this did not happen.

The episode, entitled "Milkmaids," is expected to star Cody Fern in a contained story that terrified viewers.

But, when the episode was not released on time, fans took to social media to share their frustration with the streaming platform.

Typically, new episodes of American Horror Stories are released at 12 a.m. PT, so "Milkmaids" was understood to be coming out at this time. However, by 2 a.m. PT, the episode hadn't shown up on Hulu.

On Wednesday August 10 FX's official account for the American Horror Story franchise shared a teaser clip of the episode, which showed Fern's as-yet-unnamed character say he wouldn't "eat his wife's heart."

The post read: "Be careful who you confess your sins to. FX's American Horror Stories is streaming tomorrow only on @hulu. #AHStories"

Hulu's social media account has not yet commented on the matter, but it was understood by Newsweek that the release is simply delayed and the episode will come out on August 11 as planned.

At 4:45 a.m. PT the second season's fourth episode, "Milkmaids," became available on Hulu for fans to watch.

Newsweek has contacted American Horror Stories representatives at FX and at Hulu for further comment.

Sharing their annoyance over the episode not coming out on time, several fans sent messages to Hulu on Twitter demanding an explanation, and some even asked for the episode to be released on an alternate streaming platform like Netflix.

One viewer who contacted Hulu's support team shortly after the episode's original release time was advised that a copy of Episode 4 had not yet been given to the streaming platform, which they claimed was why it was not showing up for viewers yet.

The same user later added: "The fact that I've stayed up til after 2AM at this point waiting for American Horror Stories because @hulu_support said it would be up by now, and it's not. I'm not happy."

One user wrote shortly after the episode's scheduled release date: "Where tf is american horror stories it was supposed to be aired 46 MINUTES AGO GET UR SELF TOGETHER."

Another user asked the streaming platform: "@hulu @hulu_support where is the new episode of American Horror Stories? The episode should have been released an hour ago. #AHStories"

While another said: "@hulu wtf? We waited up for the release of episode 4 of American Horror Stories and you didn't release it? 1am mountain time. What are we paying you for? We could torrent it for late views. Seriously."

American Horror Stories Season 2 airs Thursdays on FX on Hulu.
