The community is invited to join Los Alamos County and other partnering organizations Aug. 11-14 for exhibits, the Friday Night Concert, the parade, a fair at Ashley Pond Park, Summer Arts & Crafts Fair at Fuller Lodge, the Rodeo at Brewer Arena, and much more!
County Fair exhibits, organized by the NMSU Co-operative Extension office will kick off the weekend with a special needs session for viewing the exhibits 4-5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12, and will open 5-8 p.m. for the general public.
Then plan to head over to Ashley Pond Park for the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series, featuring Sim Balkey! The Summer Concert series starts at 6 p.m. with opening acts and runs until 10 p.m. Friday.
Saturday Aug. 13 is full of activities starting at 9 a.m. with the festival and fair at Ashley Pond Park, the Summer Arts and Crafts Fair, organized by the Los Alamos Arts Council at Fuller Lodge’s east lawn, and the PAC8 Los Alamos Youth Film Intensive Rolling Premier in Fuller Lodge.
Don’t forget to claim your spot at 10 a.m. on Central Avenue for the Parade, hosted by Los Alamos MainStreet. Fill the afternoon with the Rodeo starting at 2 p.m. at Brewer Arena on North Mesa and conclude the evening with the Cowboy Dinner and Dance at 5 p.m. at the Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse Lodge, also on North Mesa.
Rodeo Weekend continues 9 a.m. Sunday starting with Stroll the Stables, at the North Mesa Stables, don’t forget to stop by the entrance table to grab Passport Guidebook. Are you tough enough to wear pink? Well, the cowboys entered into the Rodeo on Sunday are wearing pink for the day to show your support!
