A man is in custody after holding a standoff with police for several hours.
The Kent Police Department said it was initially called to the Olympic Skyline Apartments in the 10000 block of SE 253 Pl. around 11 a.m. for reports of someone threatening others with a weapon.
Once there, witnesses told officers the man was arguing with neighbors before he pointed a gun at them and went back into his apartment. Witnesses also said they heard gunshots from inside shortly after.
KPD asked for the Valley SWAT team to come help, which secured the area and got in contact with the suspect.
Hours later, a warrant for his arrest was issued but the suspect still refused to come outside. Officers then went in and got the man, along with two guns he had. The suspect had minor injuries but no one else was hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
