On Septembe r22, 2022, at 5:07 pm Walla Walla area police officers were dispatched to a report of an officer shot on W.Poplar Street near Avery. Further information provided by witnesses indicated the victim was a Washington State Patrol Trooper,later identified as Trooper Dean Atkinson Jr. Local officers responded to the scene and secured evidence related to the incident. Several minutes later, Milton-Freewater,Oregon police officers attempted to stop a vehicle matching the description from the shooting. Local officers responded towards the Oregon state line and were involved in a short vehicle pursuit with the vehicle before the pursuit came to an end on Hwy 125 north of Stateline Rd. Brandon Dennis O’Neel DOB 7-16-1985, was taken into custody and transported to the Walla Walla County Jail where he will be booked on allegations stemming from his suspected involved in this incident. Trooper Atkinson was treated at Providence Medical center in Walla Wallaand then transported to Harborview Medical Center for additional care.
Much of north Richland was dark for a number of hours from late Sunday night into Monday morning, after a single-car crash on Stevens Drive. Around 11:30 PM a car was driving north on Stevens Drive in North Richland when it veered off the road, slamming into several power poles, according to police.
(Kennewick, WA) -- The Kennewick Fire Department rushed to the scene of a kitchen inside a home on fire Thursday morning off 2617 West 6th Place. This began around 8:30am. Fire radio traffic indicated that screams could be heard in the background of the 9-1-1 call. When crews arrived, they found a victim lying on the front lawn of the home with 2nd Degree Burns to their torso and legs. The victim was rushed to Trios and later airlifted to Harborview in Seattle for further treatment. The fire itself was quickly extinguished. and the cause is under investigation. (Kennewick, WA) -- Kennewick Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday night around 10:00. Officers were called out to a home off West 4th Ave between Morain and and Olson. As officers and Kennewick Fire Department Medics arrived, it was found that the victim had a gunshot wound. They were taken to a local hospital for further medical treatment. The victim, an adult male, died at the hospital. The case is being turned over to the Yakima County SIU, or Special Investigations Unit. The Yakima County Sheriff's Office has released some information about the incident. Casey Schilperoort of the YCSO stated Deputies were involved in a fatal shooting that occurred in the 500 block of North McKinley Road in Wapato. Specifics of the case were not released except that it was an Officer-involved shooting.
(Pasco, WA) -- An accidental misreporting of an additional aircraft crash at the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco, WA Wednesday morning around 9:15 am. According to Ben Shearer with Pasco Fire, the incident was actually a training exercise which had been planned for months in advance. Residents were already on edge after the near calamitous aircraft crash yesterday of a private jet which skidded down the runway, catching fire at about 7 am. 10 employees of Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute were onboard the plane, though luckily nobody was hurt in the crash.
Details are still pouring in about a fiery plane crash at Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco, Washington on Tuesday morning. A malfunction forced the plane to land without its landing gear (front wheel) with ten passengers onboard en route from Chehalis, temporarily haulting all air traffic in and out of PSC.

(Pasco, WA) -- One is under arrest after what's being called a bizarre case of road rage. This happened on the Southbound US 395/Blue Bridge around 11:45 Friday morning, when a merging motorist reported to police that a passenger inside another vehicle had pointed a pistol at them. State Patrol says they were able to stop the suspect vehicle and arrested the man who was brandishing a gun. The suspect is said to be a convicted felon and should not have been able to have a gun in the first place. Authorities stress the victim did nothing wrong. Traffic was snarled for a time while WSP blocked the right lane of the bridge during the investigation. No one was hurt.
