A Latta man was arrested and charged Monday in connection to three separate incidents, according to a release from Marion Police Dept.
Javon Rhieen Brunson, 28, is charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, three counts of pointing and presenting firearms at a person, three counts of discharging firearms within the city limits and three counts of unlawful carrying of a firearm for three separate incidents that happened on Feb. 25, 2021, June 10, 2021, and Jan. 25, 2022, police said.
On Feb. 25, 2021, Brunson was traveling in a car on Withlacoochee Avenue when he pulled up next to the victim, who was riding a motorcycle and fired multiple shots at the victim, striking him in his lower extremities, according to the release. The victim was taken to McLeod Hospital in Florence and treated for his injuries.
On June 10, 2021, Brunson was traveling in a car on Murray Street in Marion when he stopped the vehicle and fired approximately 10 shots at the victim and then fled the scene, police said.
Then on Jan. 25 of this year, Brunson fired multiple shots at the victim while in the 800 Block of Upland Avenue and then fled the scene in a vehicle, police added. The victim was transported to MUSC in Mullins and treated for his injuries.
Brunson’s bond was denied on the attempted murder charges and set at $41, 262.50 for all other charges. His bond for the attempted murder charges will be set at a later date by a circuit court judge.
