Fire starts in RV, spreads to nearby structure

WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla County Fire District No. 4 responded to a fire on the 2400 block of South Third Avenue near Reynolds Avenue Wednesday afternoon. Chief Rocky Eastman said the fire started around 1:30 p.m. in a motorhome and spread to a nearby structure.

Neighbors said they heard several explosions come from the property before firefighters arrived. The motorhome and structure were destroyed. Several vehicles on the property parked nearby were also either damaged or destroyed by the fire.

Eastman said no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

South Third Avenue and portions of Prospect Avenue were closed as crews worked on extinguishing the fire.
