The Dallas City Council approved a resolution Wednesday that would restrict city resources such as funds, personnel, and hardware from being used to investigate abortions.

The resolution make abortion investigations a low priority for police, but the language of the resolution does have exceptions.

Councilman Adam Bazaldua said the resolution protects women and reproductive rights.

"I'm going to do everything that I can as a father and now a policy maker, to protect my daughter, who will grow up in a world where legislators are attacking her rights at every chance," Bazaldua said.

The resolution passed 13-1.
