Pitt HC Pat Narduzzi Addresses Media Before Training Camp Practice No. 8

PITTSBURGH -- Before the Pitt Panthers took the field for their eighth practice of training camp, head coach Pat Narduzzi spoke to assembled media about how his team responded to the physical toll of consecutive days in full pads and provided some insight into position battles at running back and linebacker.
Narduzzi said that Aydin Henningham, Buddy Mack, Nick Lapi and Tylar Wiltz are among the Pitt backers who appeared sparingly or not at all in 2021. He singled out Mack specifically, who is both making a transition from defensive back and recovering from an injury.
At running back, Narduzzi said Israel Abanikanda has separated himself as pads went on and the Panthers hit live in 11-on-11 plays. He said Abanikanda is explosive and is almost impossible to stop if he reaches the second level.
