Former Bronson High School basketball coach Billy McCall Jr. now faces sexual misconduct charges not only in Alachua County but Levy County as well.

According to a Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) press release sent Wednesday, additional victims have reportedly come forward.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested McCall on July 28 after LCSO initiated an investigation on McCall for allegedly sexually abusing two teenage boys who played on the Bronson High School basketball team. The sexual abuse allegedly took place at McCall’s apartment in Gainesville.

ACSO charged McCall with lewd and lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious battery on a juvenile victim, directing a child to create a sexual performance, and using a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony.

LCSO detectives obtained a warrant for McCall’s arrest on lewd and lascivious molestation charges after additional victims came forward in Levy County.

The Levy County warrant will not be served until McCall’s Alachua County case is resolved. McCall is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a $650,000 bond.

Detectives believe there could be more victims who have yet to come forward, according to the release. Anyone who has information or is a victim of McCall is asked to contact LCSO Detective Shelby Kilian at 352-468-5111 ext. 276.

Bronson High School hired McCall in August 2021 to coach the boys basketball program. It was his first high school head coaching job after directing the middle school team since 2016. McCall also spent multiple years officiating basketball at both the high school and collegiate levels.
