SHELDON—A 32-year-old Paullina man was arrested about 8:15 p.m. Saturday, July 30, in Sheldon on a charge of first-offense operating while under the influence.
The arrest of Daniel Dean Ohrt stemmed from the stop of a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix for a license plate violation on the 200 block of Eighth Street, according to the Sheldon Police Department.
He had bloodshot/watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed field sobriety tests.
Two open containers of alcohol were observed in cupholders.
Ohrt also admitted to consuming alcohol, according to the incident report.
